The Covid-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges for the tourism industry where travel restrictions, border closing, businesses come to a halt and millions lose their jobs worldwide. With the launching of vaccination campaign all around the world, the tourism industry is expected to slowly recover starting with the transformation concerning climate change mitigation, sustainable tourism, local communities, and society’s well-being.
Leksluu would like to be part of the transformation agent by providing a platform where we can get together to achieve the vision of green, eco-friendly, conscious, responsible and sustainable tourism a reality through continuous improvement in Redefining Tourism.
The pandemic has changed the way of future tourists and travellers in choosing their next destinations. Studies showed that most people would love to travel once the restriction is lifted and their immediate available destination is domestic travel and the characteristic of the destination should be safe, less crowded, open space, clean and sustainable. Therefore, players in the tourism industry should be prepared and ready to embrace these new trends, which will not only benefit their business but the environment and society as well. After all, the tourism industry must be viewed in the big picture as it affects all parties.
Leksluu comprises a team of people that value responsible tourism and firmly believe that it can be achieved with strong support and cooperation with all stakeholders. There are lots of travel blog and platforms out there that show where to go, what to eat, which activities are recommended. However, at Leksluu, we are focusing on redefining tourism toward a sustainable, responsible, conscious and kind to the people, society, environment and economy by sharing the latest knowledge, news, trends, studies as well as engaging with the players in tourism industries like the SMEs, the authority as well as the public. We enjoy and value our relationships with like-minded people and organisations and we find deep satisfaction in seeing our ideas, innovations, and cooperation result in real improvements in the tourism industry which hopefully resulting in a positive impact on the economy, environment and society. It is a noble idea, which can only be achieved with cooperation from all stakeholders.
Leksluu is a brainchild of Ahmad Rusydan, who recently completed his doctorate study at UiTM, Shah Alam, Malaysia. His research was on SMEs in the tourism industry and how they can overcome their liabilities of smallness by being entrepreneurial. He believes that sustainable tourism is the way forward for the industry and it can help the players in the tourism industry to become resilient and profitable in the long run. All it takes now is to Leksluu.. take a PAUSE and together redefining tourism so that it can have a positive impact on the people, society environment, and economy.
